Sedimente Exhibition event

Images taken earlier this month of LIA's 10 year anniversary event "Sedimente" held in the Werkschau building within the Spinnerei complex.

"Sedimente" Jubiläumsausstellung

It is an important 10 year anniversary for the Leipzig International Art Program (LIA) which I attended from 2015-16.

Key artworks from the LIA collection are part of this group exhibition at the huge Werkschau building in the Spinnerei. Several of my own paintings are also included.

We've just finished installing the work and setting up the space for the opening night on 8th March. The exhibition runs until 24 March

"Affects on Absorption" exhibition

This weekend will be interesting as I have work in and will attend the Autumn Rundgang at the Spinnerei in Leipzig. Its an epic public event and always really fun to see the Spinnerei come to life in this way, as it is usually a quiet set of buildings where artists work.

This year is an official relationship with German and Australian Governments, with a cultural program titled Australia Now. The LIA residency studios are exhibiting my work and many other residents from Australia.

ID Vice interview

While on the LIA residency over 2015-2016 I was interviewed about Leipzig and its creative scene. The series runs over four episodes, split between the cities of Lisbon and Leipzig.

They even captured my bed-hair (thanks film crew!) while we chatted in my studio.

"Probed Light" exhibition

Currently I have a dual exhibition at KTR Gallerie in Leipzig. My exhibiting partner is the Spanish painter and my friend is Carlos Sagrera.

Carlos and I have both been residents at LIA, in the Spinnerei

Steve Uhlig of ActiveART is the mastermind of the exhibition.

KTR are wonderful in their support and hosting. The gallery/ office space is a great enterprise.

The artist, philosopher an writer Samantha Groenestyn filtered down Carlos and my ideas into a clear statement. Have a read of the text HERE

Christmas Open Studios at LIA!

We are having an open studios event this Thursday at LIA.

Its also a moment to say farewell to Kristina Semenova because she is leaving her role as the LIA co-ordinator and moving onto her own projects. Kristina is an important person on the Leipzig scene. She has also helped countless artists in her LIA role.

One of her many ventures is Bükü, which is positioned close to Spinnerei and has facilitated many great international projects.

Residency in Leipzig, Germany

LIA the not for profit residency program has accepted me as a resident artist. LIA operates within the Spinnerei, in Leipzig and has its own unique art hub within the complex.

Ive created a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the studio costs. In total my residency costs are $9,500 AU for 6 months. I will live in the studio, painting full time to create new work. Im asking for $5,000 in this Kickstarter project, but it is possible to exceed to target amount. This would be an incredible bonus.

Here is what the campaign looks like at the moment. Thank you so much everyone for your support!
